Hello!

I have a springer spaniel and I swear he just can’t keep still. You can’t really snuggle with him on the couch because he just wants to get up and walk around. He has other little odd things that he does too. Just wondering if this is a thing.

  • Okay, WOW! I just googled it and was amazed to read that YES they can have ADHD. They don’t have it in the exact same way humans do but they do have their own animal version of it and studies have been done on rats with ADHD etc.
So interesting! So perhaps if you look up tips for ADHD dog you might find something helpful! I know there are lots of naturally calming chews and supplements on the market

  • Interesting. Sometimes I think my male cat Kingston has ADHD because he sometimes runs around the house like crazy. It sounds like a stampede. Yet, my other cat Oreo, a female, is more subdued. Both are very different. I’d be curious to read everyone’s comments here.

  • I guess it depends on who you ask. One of my doggie nephews has an interstate phycologist, so my in laws would argue yes.

  • Hmm im not too sure. Hard to say. Is he getting enough daily excercise or walks to burn out his energy? Is it a nervous or anxiety related issue? I’d suggest going to your vet and seeing if there is anything they can pick up or recommend. Good luck!

  • I’m not sure it could actually be diagnosed but I know we have had very over active dogs over the years. In saying that it was always very ball focused though and she would lay and relax but as soon as we came outside it was on.
