Hello!

As someone who loves cats but is allergic to them, I’d love to hear from people who’ve done immunotherapy. Was it successful? And what’s involved?

  • Never had immunotherapy, for me what worked was exposure therapy. I was terribly allergic to my cat when we brought her home, but after a few weeks it eased and now it doesn’t affect me at all

  • My daughter has an allergy to dogs. We discovered this after getting our first pup. She was so upset. We now have 3 poodles aswell and they don’t bother her at all. We went through the process of finding out about the injections but decided against them. They are costly and the part that got me was that the Dr said you can decrease your sensitivity with regular gentle exposure anyway and the needles don’t always work. It just wasn’t worth it for us

  • Great question! I dont know anyone that has but i know with any sort of de-sensitisation it takes commitment and regular visits to increase your tolerance to your allergies.
