I like to make my dogs a carrot cake with sweet potato icing for their birthdays!

The cake base:
– 1 egg
-1/3 cup honey
– 1/4 cup natural peanut butter (check labels as some have sweeteners that are super harmful to dogs!)
– 1/4 cup vegetable oil
– 1 cup shredded carrots (about 3 medium carrots)
– 1 cup wholemeal plain flour
– 1 teaspoon baking soda

Mix all wet ingredients together. Add to dry ingredients. Bake in a moderate oven for about 35 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.

Icing
– 1 sweet potato, boiled and mashed with 2 tablespoons of natural greek yoghurt

You can also sub the carrots for 2 medium mashed bananas and reduce the amount of oil by around half.

No real recipe, however Greek yoghurt can be a great thing to use for fake frosting 🙂
