Hello!

Hi all, my daughter has been asking for a rabbit and I am just curious as to what we would need to set up for its care if she got one. She wants to have it inside and toilet train it- how hard is this process? What could I expect?

  • Bunnies are a huge responsibility. I had one when I was a tween/teen, and it was so much work. We had an avery set up in the yard and constantly had to buy straw for their ground cover and clean up the soiled straw daily, otherwise it gets very smelly. They want to nibble at everything. I never toilet trained mine, but hopefully it isn’t too much of a task.

  • I’ve never had a rabbit. I know that my daughter too, wanted a rabbit. Instead we adopted 2 cats and they’re indoor cats. Good luck.

  • Gosh i just know rabbits are more work than you can imagine! It’s the constant cleaning of their hay, poop and pee thats enough for me to never own one. They are absolutely adorable, but also a commitment. Good luck! I hope you find the perfect rabbit for your daughter!

  • I couldn’t go for a rabbit inside but then we have carpet . If it was a tiled house throughout it may work but not for me. It would be a lot of work to train it. I haven’t actually tried though as ours was an outdoor bunny in a big hutch.
